Welcome! If you're new to flashing custom software on your Android device or want to learn what PixelOS brings to the table before installing, you're in the right place.
What is a Custom ROM?
A Custom ROM is an aftermarket operating system built from the Android Open Source Project (AOSP)—the same foundational code Google uses for Android. Manufacturers like Xiaomi ship devices with heavily modified skins (such as MIUI or HyperOS) that often include extra background services, pre-installed bloatware, and aggressive battery management.
Installing a custom ROM replaces the stock operating system with a clean, community-maintained build of Android. Benefits include:
- Clean, Bloat-Free Experience: No pre-installed ads, carrier apps, or redundant system services.
- Extended Software Support: Receive the latest Android versions and monthly security patches even after the manufacturer stops updating your device.
- Better Performance & Battery Life: Lighter system overhead means smoother animations, faster app launches, and more consistent standby battery life.
What is PixelOS?
PixelOS is an AOSP-based custom ROM try to deliver the Google Pixel experience on every device with useful refinements and rock-solid stability.
- Pixel UI & Goodies: Comes with Google apps (GApps) pre-installed, Pixel Launcher and Unlimited Google Photos backup.
